We need to honor the struggles and challenges seen by Martin Luther King if we are to show any respect for his vision. Martin Luther King challenged us. His holiday should be our holiday of commitment to radical change in the way the U.S. operates through oppression here and abroad. This is not about platitudes, but about the serious challenges he faced and we still face.
