King Talk: I saw Tony selling stuff on the side of the road. I pulled over and asked to interview him for a series on people's relationship to terms like redneck, hillbilly and honkey. Tony considers the term hillbilly to be complimentary and redneck to be derogatory. He lit and offered to share a cigarette with me. We talked about depression and growing up in Nashville. Both of us lived there as young children. He told me about getting hurt working on a strip mine and how about how the preacher at his mothers funeral scolded him for celebrating her death but he was happy to know she was free from suffering and saw the funeral as a celebration of this.
