The director of operations at the home said its doctor gave orders not to move Cooksey until an emergency vehicle arrived. Thousands of nursing homes across the country had higher reported staffing levels, especially for registered nurses, on public government website Nursing Home than what they provided on an average daily basis, according to an analysis of annual financial documents by the Center for Public Integrity.
