Ten years after Sept. 11, according to the 2010 U.S. Census, there were over 150,000 Native American and Alaska Native Veterans living in the United States. According to the National Congress of American Indian, 76 Native Americans and Alaska Natives died fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq and 513 have been wounded in action in U.S. Wars since 2001.
