3 Mules stand along the Pacific Coast Highway near Naval Air Station Point Mugu #California "It is in my bones, that is the way I like to live" explaining why 31 years ago he decided to start a nomadic lifestyle. When I asked the name of his animals he just introduced them as mules. When I asked his name, he too introduced himself as Mule. We are the 3 mules he said pointing at a handmade sign advertising his website and Facebook page 3mules.com. Claiming the right to use public space is a constant fight for the Mules. They are going to court on November 6 to contest and plead not guilty after earlier this year they were arrested on a petty offense for sleeping on public land in Thousand Oaks. The Mule argues, “It is not a petty offense, it is very important because it is the right of somebody living outside to be able to sleep on public land. You are not a citizen if you don’t have the right to sleep.” Photo by Balazs Gardi (@balazsgardi) for #everydayUSA #3mules #nomad #offthegrid #everydayeverywhere by everydayusa
