September 19, 2014 "Path to Success" The path to being affluent, where you can have $100 bills pinned to your cart, albeit monopoly money, one has to be willing to routinely engage in a task in a very mature way. A simple lesson from a guy living on the streets. Someone asked me recently, why is it that black people do not seem to trust financial institutions? My answer, "back in the late 1800's the Freedmen's Savings and Trust, the bank responsible for receiving deposits from black soldiers and runaway slaves working on the Union garrisons, was implicated in a massive fraud. This resulted in the bank closing and a sum of $2,993,790.68 belonging to 61,144 depositors was never repaid. Blacks have been cynical ever since.
